This is a board game I made inspired by Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel The Buried Giant. This game explores themes of memory, reconciliation, and human relationships. More deeply, this project unpacks the ideas of collective amnesia and personal truth, which directly dictate the game mechanics. Drawing on Ishiguro’s text, the game reflects on the absence of memory, how it shapes identity and relationships. Additionally, it touches on themes of reconciliation and its toll, asking whether forgetting is sometimes necessary for moving forward.
